Rhyl Against Partizan Belgrade

On 15th July 2009 my friend Jamie and I will be attending our first ever Euro Qualifier as Rhyl FC of Wales take on the might of Partizan Belgrade from Serbia, Partizan who took part in group stages of Champions League in 2003 have a rich history with thousands of crazy fans turning up each week to watch in expectation of a win, whereas Partizan have a huge fan base Rhyl FC don't as a team in Wales there popularity stays within the boundaries mainly of there location with not many supporters out of a 20 Mile radius of Rhyl.


As a Shrewsbury fan i have never been to a European Night and am anticipating a good atmosphere with Partizan bringing a few hundred from oversea's. Me and Jamie have decided to sit in the Belgrade area of the stadium so we can sample a 'european' atmophere for the first time. Belgrade have many stars including the highly rated Adem Ljajic who many rate as having to potential to gain many accolades in his career which in January 2010 will include him joining Manchester United.

This trip will involve us both travelling from the Midlands of england on train to Rhyl which has a beach so hopefully its hot enough to relax and have a beverage before the game. On our journey to watch one of Serbia's biggest clubs we hope to have a good chat and have some banter with there fans whom hopefully after travelling across Europe won't have a disappointing night.

The mighty 92

Hello follow bloggers, my names Ben and this is my first ever blog. Many months ago me and a fellow Shrewsbury Town football club following friend decided that we would ditch away days at Accrington Stanley on a Tuesday night and would invest our time in going round every football league stadium in england, yes every ground ! which all in all consists of 92. This i must state is not a decision based on the love of our local team Shrewsbury who obviously when we are at random stadiums we can't watch, we will visit as many new stadiums with them as possible but this is hard to do whilst we languise in the lowest tier of league football. Can't wait for the meaty derbies such as the Bristol derby and Swansea against Cardiff.

Following Shrewsbury we have both been around the country, through the good times and the bad which is most weeks, from a Shattering loss to Blyth Spartans in FA cup to reaching Wembley stadium were we lost 1-0 to Gillingham which in all honesty we deserved as on the day we didn't play our normal game. We plan on Visiting many grounds next season such as Stockport,Oldham,Coventry,West Brom etc which are all local grounds we have never visited, towards end of season will maybe visit Wigan or Blackburn depending on if theres a ticket deal i.e. 3 games for £20 like last season, also visiting a few non league such as altrincham & Northwich Victoria as non -league football is a great passion of mine.

My friend Jamie,aged 17 has been to more stadiums than me with his sum total of 16 and mine being 11 which of many we have attended together, this 'mission' of ours to see every team will involve heptic weekends were train hoping will be at a maximum and confusion will rule the day.
This plan me and my friend have put so much time into will move onto a differant scale later today (17/6/2009) as the fixture lists for each football league are released, when we see the list we will draw up our own list of fixtures and will 'blog' them, We both are hoping this will be one of the most enjoyable and worthwhile decisions we've ever made.
